EGG DROP MOONG DAL SAMBAR | MUTTAI PAASI PARUPPU SAMBAR | INDIAN STYLE FUSION SAMBAR

INGREDIENTS

  • Moong dal           – 100gm
  • Onion                   – 1 Big (finely chopped)
  • Tomato                – 1 Big (finely chopped)
  • GreenChilii         – 2 (cut into half)
  • Egg                       – 4
  • Water                   – 1.5 l (for cooking dal)

TEMPERING

  • Oil                         – 3 tbsp
  • Curry leave          – few
  • Jeera                     – 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds    – 1 tsp
  • Chilli powder      – 1/4tsp

METHOD

In a pan pour water and add dal and bring it to boil and cook 15mins in slow flame to cook dal in to mashy consistency. Add onion, tomato, green chili, and cook again for 10 mins in simmer. Adjust the consistency by pouring water (100ml to cook egg). Keep the flame in high and poach the egg and simmer the flame for 5 mins, to cook egg well. In another kadai, add oil, mustard seed and allow to crack and then add jeera and curry leave, along with chilli powder and switch off the stove(do not burn the chilli powder).

 

Suggested serving : 3 ppl

Serve with White rice.
