• Prawn                              – 500gms (after cleaning)
  • Onion                              – 2 medium(sliced finely)
  • Tomato                           – 3 small (chopped finely)
  • Ginger garlic paste      1 tbsp
  • Coconut Milk                half cup(the 1st filtered milk)
  • Green chilli                    – 3
  • Coriander leaves          few
  • Water                             – 1 cup
  • Oil                                   – 4 tbsp
  • Salt                                 – for taste
  • Red chili powder         – 2 tsp
  • Garam  masala           – 2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder       – half tsp
  • Cinamon                       – 1
  • Cardamon                     – 2
  • Clove                               – 1


In a kadai, add oil, when heated add cinnamon, cardamon, elaichi , onion and cook until turns brown. Add ginger garlic paste and cook until raw smell goes off. Now add tomato and cook until it becomes mushy. Add salt, chili powder, garam masala, turmeric powder. Cook well and simmer it for 5 mins with the lid closed so that oil will get separated from the masala. At this point add prawn and stir well. Pour water and bring it to boil, and cook for 10 mins in slow flame, when water evaporates completely add coconut milk and bring it to boil and again sim it for 5 mins and the consistency of thokku becomes semi gravy, meanwhile add coriander leaves in and stir.

Serving suggested: 2 ppl approx

Serve with White rice, Dosai, or Chapathi.
