SIMPLE VERSION OF CHINESE EGG MANCHURIAN FOR BACHELORS

INGREDIENTS

  • Eggs                            – 6
  • Onion                         – 1 (diced cubical)
  • Green Capsicum     –  2 small (diced cubical)
  • Spring Onion           – few strands
  • Garlic                         –  10 pods (finely chopped)
  • Soy sauce                 –  1 tbsp
  • Green chili sauce    –  2 tbsp
  • Vinegar                     –  1 tbsp
  • Cornflour                 –  2 tbsp
  • Salt                            –  2 tsp
  • Sugar                        –  a pinch
  • Pepper powder       – 1 tbsp
  • Oil                             – 3 tbsp
  • Water                       – 1 cup (150 ml)

Method

Steamed egg method (15mins)

Whisk eggs well in a bowl, and add salt and pepper according to the taste. In a stainless steel bowl brush it with oil and pour the egg into it and steam it well for 1o mins in high flame and 5 min for the slow flame. take it out from the bowl and cut into cubes.

Add oil to the pan, put garlic, spring onion and saute it. Add onion, capsicum and cook well until translucent. add soy sauce, green chili, vinegar and bring it to boil, then add pepper powder, salt, sugar and stir well along with egg cubes. Mix well. Add water and boil it for 5mins ,so that egg will absorb the gravy , meanwhile mix cornflour with few spoons of water into a paste and pour into the gravy and cook, finally finish it with spring onion.

Serving: 2 ppl approx

served well with fried rice or fried noodle.
